We recently watched the movie The Soloist which is inspired by a true story of a talented musician, Nathaniel, who is experiencing homelessness. The movie follows a LA Times journalist, Steve Lopez, who by chance finds Nathaniel and is inspired to help him get off the streets. Like other well-intentioned helpers, Steve discovers that his new friend is one of many people who live on streets that struggle with mental illness. While Steve searched for the best way to help Nathaniel, he soon realized that the touch of friendship was one of the greatest means in which to restore Nathaniel‘s hope and to help him rebuild his life.

As part of National Hunger and Homelessness awareness week, we ask that you take a moment to watch this movie, The Soloist (https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0821642/).

How can you help bring the warmth of friendship to someone struggling this holiday season?
